A silly place filled with caffeine induced ramblings of this person named KarmaGirl....or something.

Apparently, VP Cheney was Quail hunting with a buddy (Harry Whittington, a 78 year old millionaire lawyer from Austin) and accidentally shot him by "peppering" him with shot from a 28 guage.  Even though they were both wearing bright orange, the VP didn't "see" him.  Luckily, there was an ambulance on hand (since the VP was around) and was able to take Whittington to the hospital where he is "fine and in good spirits".

I'll bet he would have been in better spirits if Cheney hadn't shot him!
New news has come out as to why Cheney shot him. Cheney thought he'd be greeted as a liberator!
One thing though, now we actually have someone in the Whitehouse with combat experience!

If Draft Dodger Dick had learned how to handle a weapon by serving in the military, this might not have happened. He should be sent to Iraq.

Why is that my old USAR unit was filled with Officers that didn't have a clue how to handle a friggin' weapon? Sidearm (standard issue for them) or rifle? Oh yeah, because most of them were as Cluelessly Abel like Gene.

Seriously, you disgraceful old coot, you and others like you were an embarassment to the uniform in my day. At least Cheney hit something. Most of the clueless old officers of my day couldn't tell which end of the weapons to point at the targets, much less hit a target -- unless they buddied up and scored each other's rounds so they could cheat and maintain qualifications enough to keep drawing undeserved checks from Uncle Sam.

Crawl back under your rock...

lol...Mr. Cheney is a disaster waiting to happen. I'd make sure I took out a huge life insurance policy if I ever came within a mile of him.

Maybe it's a different attitude in certain MOS's, but the officers in all the units I was in took a lot of pride in sidearm qualification. I'm talking about MP units though, so that may explain the difference.

What service were you in?--surely not American. And you once accused me of rhetoric!

Granted it was an unfortunate and embarrassing accident; nevertheless, there lurks pointed and relevant imagery.

that's what cheney and scalia were tryin to hit in louisiana. good thing antonin didn't need further convincing (beyond the 'favor' i mean) bout which way to vote when cheney's case came before the supreme court. he might easily have been settin off metal detectors for the rest of his life.

I think it was Jay Leno who said that when the public learned he shot a lawyer, his poularity increased to 92%!

I think I must be very tired.

Due to the current forum replies line-up in the sidebar I just read this:

Does God Exist?

And for a moment there, I thought I was ready.

Your belief that the US are murdering Iraqis comes from your inability to educate yourself, doesn't it?
