A silly place filled with caffeine induced ramblings of this person named KarmaGirl....or something.
Finally they got it right!

Are you a cola drinker?  Have you ever mixed half regular and half diet cola at a fountain and wondered why the soft drink makers didn't do the same?

Well, they have.  It's called Coca-Cola C2.  It's not calorie free, it's not full calorie, and it's not "diet".  It's a mix.  There is 70 calories in a 12 oz can compared to about 150 in regular Coke.  It also only has 18 grams of sugar compared to 39 in regular Coke.

I quit drinking Coke awhile ago because the sugar was giving me the jitters (found out that was because of a glucose issue) and I really hate the taste of diet pop.  So, this is the best thing that has come out in a long time.  It tastes way more like regular Coke than diet.  It still has a tad "diet" taste to it (or, more like an aftertaste) but it is easy to get used to.

So, if you like Cola and want to cut down the calories/carbs but don't like diet- try Coca-Cola C2.  It's a *very* good compromise.

My wife and I are liking it quite a bit. it's odd that it comes only in 8 packs (another gimmick to "cut calories" by giving you less servings?). And I haven't tried it with alcohol yet, but I'm sure it'll be alright for me, as I got used to Diet Dr. Pepper and Old Crow pretty quickly.

I agree. It's low cal and taste okay but will it catch on.

Yeah? I simply gave up pop drinks and went stright water for months now.

Ever wondered why water tastes bad? It's because you're used to soft drinks. Once past that, water tastes great with anything.

Water is soo good. Especially right now, because its so hot here, but I used to be the soda queen. Water is refreshing now. I haven't tried the Coca-Cola C2 yet, but I'll be sure to get some next time I'm at the store.

I only drink about 4 or 5 Cokes a week.  But, that is still enough to rack up a bunch of calories.  I really don't like straight diet Coke, because it tastes like a can of chemicals (yes, I know that all soda is basically a can of chemicals- but it doesn't have to taste like it! )

I wish that they cut out almost all the sugar and used mainly Splenda for sweetening.  I really don't care for aspartame- I wish they would remove it completely.  Guess it's not as bad as the bromated vegetable oil in Mt. Dew though

I feel the same way about switching from Real Coke as I do about switching from regular coffee to decaffinated, real beer to light (or even worse) .05% beer. I know that it's all supposed to be better for you, but I'd rather be bad than good, I guess.

XX - I really don't like water with the Old Crow. greywar can hack it, but he has a stronger stomach than I (and a more abused palate, I think).

NickyG - Switching from real Coke to diet isn't the same as from regular coffee to decaffinated. Diet Soda still has caffeine... one of the most useless substances known to man is the Caffeine Free Diet Coke. Stupid Gold Can.
Additionally, is there an alcohol content difference between "normal" and light beer?
