A silly place filled with caffeine induced ramblings of this person named KarmaGirl....or something.

I am seeing a bunch of hit and miss posts about issues that people are having.  However, it is impossible for the web programmers to find the reports in this fashion.  Though Cordelia can relay the messages, she can't actually fix the issues (as can none of us expect the web team).

So, please post your issues here.  *BUT*, when you do, make sure that you are giving every detail possible.  A "this site is acting odd" report will get us nowhere.  Post when, where, and how the problem occurred.  Also let us know what browser you are using and if you have already tried cleaning your cookies.  Reproducible issues are easiest to track (with info on how to reproduce them) so, please try to reproduce the issue prior to reporting it.

Please remember that the more info you provide, the more likely it can be fixed.

Hi there,

Can someone at JU put the "Religion" category back into the Forums list?

I cannot seem to find it except in the create new article page.
on Aug 19, 2008

I like the new, extra-sized avatars.  I'm one of the few who's got mine updated yet.

However, on the main JU pages (in the comments section) they don't fit anymore - they bleed into the comments.  Looks fugly.  So whenever you can get around to tweaking that.

From https://forums.joeuser.com/321249/page/3/#1843863

This new 'quick reply' feature is proving anything BUT 'quick' for me, the pages are literally taking 8-10 minutes to load so navigation is impossible unless I want to spend all day here just to reply to a few articles.  I am on dialup @ (45-50 Kbps) and what seems to be dragging me down is the 'emoticons' (83 items remaining, 78 items remaining, 65 items remaining......ARGGGHHHH.)

If I cannot find a way around this, (If I recall correctly there is a way to set your browser to 'text only' but I haven't done this in ages) or if JU doesn't correct the problem (if it's on their end) this new format will effectively eliminate my participation here until we're back on a high-speed connection.  Considering our current budget, that may be a while.

I'd appreciate it if someone (ANYONE) would cut and paste this to the ongoing "Report Problems" Thread (by Karma) since it would take me at least 15 minutes to navigate over there myself and I'm out of patience.  I will try again later to see if things are any better, if not, this may be my 'goodbye JU' time.  xox--LW

It also took me a while to get the "Quick Reply" working.

I like the recent changes to the reply creation/editing tools but the 'quote' button no longer pastes the selected text into the reply window here since they were implemented - FF3, XPP SP2.

Edit button is still not showing when it should.

Guess I'll be saying bye for a while.

How do ya do that SC?

When I go to "images" and try to upload a new image, it doesn't work.  Also the image allows 50 x 50...is that the new bigger size?

I got it to work through the forums 'My Account' list.  The new available size is 100x100.

Hello KharmaGirl,

I just found your article and admit that I haven't read through it entirely,

so I don't know if what I'm experiencing has already been brought to your attention.

Perhaps it's as simple as me not understanding how to properly use the posting of comments program.

For example, I want to quote something and push the correct buttons to get that to happen. and the quote appears in the box.

Before I was able to regulate where I wanted the quote to appear in the comment box. Now, I cannot make the 2nd quote appear below the first one. It always goes to the top of the page which I then must move to the position in the comment box where  I want it.

Thanks SC...now I'm cool like you.

Looks like something has changed in FF3's security settings (or maybe JU's use of its rich text editor causes previously unused security features to be invoked).  Recently, selecting text & clicking the quote button was litterally doing nothing - no error message but the text failed to appear in the reply window.  So I tried to copy/paste a bit ago - got a message saying cut/copy/paste had been disabled in FF3's rich text editor for security reasons.  You can enable it by creating/editing a user file (the popup message has a link to directions for this) but it is site-specific, meaning you have to specifically add each url for which you wish to enable cut/copy/paste.  Once I made the changes for JU & WC, quoting and cut/copy/paste are working as expected again.

Since there have been no recent FF3 version updates, I assume the forum changes 'unmasked' this FF3 'feature'.

I_hate_ absolutely every feature that is now available in different sizes.

When I reply to a comment and quote it, the font size seems to change randomly. It's very annoying. Why not select one font and be done with it?

Uploading an image for the avatar doesn't work for me.

I follow the My Account link in the forums, go to images, upload a file (4 KB, 81x99) and get the following:

Image uploaded successfully.

However, that sentence vanished shortly after and my image is nowhere to be seen. Plus if I click on the Remove Image button it informs me that there is no image to remove.

Internet Explorer 7.0 on Vista 64.

Using FF3 on XPP SP2.  For the past week or two, even when the Edit button appears (remains highly unpredictable), clicking the Edit button does nothing but refresh the page - never gets you to an edit window.  FYI SD.

if i click on an item in "Popular Channels" i do not have the quick reply window at the bottom, and a bunch of weird things happen in regards to login in. verified in both chrome and IE7
