A silly place filled with caffeine induced ramblings of this person named KarmaGirl....or something.

I am seeing a bunch of hit and miss posts about issues that people are having.  However, it is impossible for the web programmers to find the reports in this fashion.  Though Cordelia can relay the messages, she can't actually fix the issues (as can none of us expect the web team).

So, please post your issues here.  *BUT*, when you do, make sure that you are giving every detail possible.  A "this site is acting odd" report will get us nowhere.  Post when, where, and how the problem occurred.  Also let us know what browser you are using and if you have already tried cleaning your cookies.  Reproducible issues are easiest to track (with info on how to reproduce them) so, please try to reproduce the issue prior to reporting it.

Please remember that the more info you provide, the more likely it can be fixed.

What do I have to do - what steps do I take to get an email informing me of a comment made on one of my blogs? Is there a particular program I have to buy to get this feature? Also how do I track a specific blog, is there some way of putting it under a favorite listing to get to it easily instead of having to go through all the motions to find it again? You help in the aforementioned would really be appreciated.
thanks

Hi guys! There seem to be a repitive posting of some articles going on. I'm trying to read at leisure and make my responses but I'm coming across articles that have been posted, like at least 8 times! I go to the next page and there are some posted at least two or three times. Can this be fixed? Thank you so much!

Now I rest my weary eyes.

I have an opinion....on the new format. It sucks! It's very slow to load, even with broadband. Once it does show then you have to wait to be able to do anything with it including scrolling down or trying to reply.

IMHO it's also not very user friendly and difficult to navigate. This is just my view. Do what you will with it.

I can't log into JU normally. I could only access the forums and that was a fete in itself getting there. Are you guys updating or something?

I can't access the actual blog pages or the joeuser.com login - I just get error messages. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7 for Mac. It's a bit irritating because in Safari I can't write anything because the textboxes don't appear. So I can't create articles except through the forum, which more often than not works. Could this be due to stupid error on my behalf?

I am unable to post comments from the forums or from the front page.  If I go to the individual blog site, then I am able to post comments.  I'm not even able to post comments on my own blog from the forums or front page, only from my specific blog site.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm having problems creating a blog group. I want to set one up as the JU Writers Club and I keep getting the following message every time I try.

JoeUser.com is undergoing some changes to it's database. Please try back again soon

I also get the occasional message that says I don't have administration priveleges to do the task. This can't be right either, can it?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Ignore this - problem solved itself.

There's an attack underway, and has been going on for some time. The posts are coming sometimes more than one a minute. I know it creates overhead to log IP addies to posts even temporarily, but couldn't we have a bit of flood control?

Maybe log, say, the last 20 IPs responsible for inserts and if they are both anonymous and are more numerous than, like 5 in an hour block the insert? I think you can fake referrer stuff to the point that it is pretty much futile to try and make sure it is coming from the real form and not a script. I guess if they are successfully spoofing IPs that wouldn't work.

My solution is to close the site to anonymous posts altogether, but then we've been over that and I don't want to beat a dead horse. This is a pain for you as much as it is for us, though. What they are doing is a bone fide attack, and illegal. I wish there was some way to get them in some sort of trouble.

...or, dare I suggest it, give someone who is here more often the mojo to stop something like this. Not me, but someone who comes here often during Stardock holiday breaks nonetheless.

Still going on. Four hours or more now. Saw a rep look in, I guess then didn't have the privs to do anything.

There seems to be a problem with a script when trying to post a new blog article. I know others are also seeing it. When I try to write a new article the new article page starts to load and then hangs. I get a pop up message about a stalled script with the option to stop the script or to continue and see if the script completes.

If I choose to continue it still just hangs and the script never completes. If I choose to stop the script the page loads and shows everything but I am unable to select a category for the article. It shows the categories but they aren't clickable.

Still having the problem of being logged out of JU when switching within SDC from JU to Object Desktop - I have to log back in when I come back to JU. Also, after being logged in to JU (in SDC), I will often be required to log in again when I navigate to the forums. Once logged in to SDC, seems you should be, and remain, logged in to everything. Hope that will be the case with Impulse!

The Enter key is non-functional for me in the Add A Reply box in the forums when logged in through SDC. I have to do up a reply in Notepad & paste it in to get carriage returns. The Enter key works fine when accessing JU via IE6 and the forum login problem mentioned in my post #201 does not occur when accessing JU via IE6.
